By Maegan Murray, WSU Tri-Cities RICHLAND, Wash. – Washington State University Tri-Cities, in partnership with the Pasco School District, was awarded a $500,000 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program grant to enhance before and after school programming at several elementary schools in Pasco.
They include physics professor Sukanta Bose, postdoctoral researcher Nairwita Mazumder and graduate students Bernard Hall and Ryan Magee. Also contributing were Fred Raab and Greg Mendell, astrophysicists and adjunct faculty working at the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory detector, or LIGO, at Hanford.
RICHLAND, Wash. – Ronald E. Filipy, who was an employee of Washington State University’s College of Pharmacy from February 1992 to June 2005, died Sept. 14, 2017, at Kalec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Wash.
