WSU is asking campuses, colleges, and units to plan for a 6% reduction in core fund budgets amid continuing efforts to maintain the university’s fiscal health during a period of enrollment and tuition revenue declines.
WSU is launching a new pilot program next week aimed at reducing work‑related fatigue and stress.
To comply with the state’s vaccination requirement, unvaccinated WSU employees have until Sept. 13 to get the first Pfizer shot, or they can get the single-dose Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine by Oct. 4.
The new process, which supersedes WSU’s previous vaccination declaration system, applies to all employees regardless of work location.
All employees system‑wide who engage in activities on a WSU worksite are required to either declare themselves fully vaccinated or request an exemption.

Its implementation revolutionizes WSU’s fiscal and human resources operations. Employees will be able to log hours and vacation requests as well as manage grants and payroll systems in one place.
Beginning Dec. 16, faculty and staff will use Workday to manage tasks previously performed using paper forms and in systems such as myWSU.
