WSU recognized externally for Workday expertise

Washington State University’s Modernization team is being recognized as a leader in Workday transitions and system functionality.

The university, which adopted Workday for its HR, finance, payroll, reporting and grants management needs in December 2020, has emerged as a trusted voice in peer-led discussions to improve system functionality. The Modernization team now frequently joins other universities in collaborating with Workday to identify and offer solutions to commonly shared problems as well as to help plan new functionality to better meet emerging needs.

“We’re pleased that others have acknowledged the team’s hard work and solutions-oriented focus, and WSU is quickly becoming a leader in higher education business services,” said WSU Senior Associate Vice President and Deputy Chief Finance Officer Matt Skinner. “Modernization’s involvement with Design Partner Groups and national organizations also accelerates the development of additional functionality to meet WSU’s requirements.”

Skinner credits the collaborative spirit found throughout the WSU system, noting the university is “an exciting phase of our ongoing efforts to continuously improve the business and financial services and processes supporting students, faculty, and staff.”

Among the institutions WSU is collaborating with are the University of Washington, Arizona State University, The Ohio State University, Louisiana State University, University of Washington – St. Louis, and University of Arkansas.
