PULLMAN, Wash. – Former Cougar and NFL standout Steve Gleason will receive Washington State University’s 2017 Regents’ Distinguished Alumnus Award, the university’s highest alumni honor, Aug. 10 on the Pullman campus.
PULLMAN, Wash. – Horace Alexander Young, chair of contemporary music at Santa Fe University of Art and Design, was honored recently with the Washington State University Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Award in recognition of three decades of professional touring and recording jazz music with top performers worldwide while also teaching privately and at the university level.
BONNEY LAKE, Wash. – After a bomb exploded in a Washington State University dorm in 1979, student resident advisor Deke Gassett organized fundraising for the WSU police to acquire more protective Kevlar vests. While a drug enforcement agent just eight years later, Gassett himself was protected by a Kevlar vest, saved others’ lives and won awards for his actions.
PULLMAN, Wash. – Randy Suess, area wheat farmer and advocate for Washington State University agriculture research and extension, was honored Wednesday with the WSU Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Award in recognition of his support of local and global wheat partnerships and of ag and community programs throughout the region.

Ensor, retired civil and chemical engineer, was honored April 11 with the Washington State University Alumni Association’s Alumni Achievement Award for internationally recognized contributions to aerosol science that have helped protect workers and the public from potential air pollution hazards.

Russell, an engineering researcher and professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, was honored Thursday, Nov. 5, with the Washington State University Alumni Association (WSUAA) Alumni Achievement Award for his work in air quality science tied to health, public policy and sustainable development.

Chaudhry – a career minister in the U.S. Senior Foreign Service and Washington State University’s new vice president for international programs – was honored Aug. 19 with the WSU Alumni Association (WSUAA) Alumni Achievement Award in recognition of his contributions to the betterment of our global society and his commitment to WSU.

Martin, recently retired from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory as acting chief operations officer for national security directorate, was honored Friday with the Washington State University Alumni Association (WSUAA) Alumni Achievement Award in recognition of career achievements, mentorship of aspiring scientists and service to education in the Tri-Cities community.
