An installation of glass salmon by Lummi Nation glass artist Dan Friday will be commemorated with an opening reception from 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at the WSU Terrell Library atrium.
Cold weather and shorter days during winter can leave even the best of us feeling tired, cranky and unmotivated. WSU students, faculty and staff have been working on ways to improve mood and mental health.

The exhibition will feature a range of styles of art, including interactive and electronic sculptures, ceramics, photography, painting, drawing and more by 16 faculty and staff from across the WSU system.
Award-winning novelist and poet Patrick Coleman will visit Pullman from Feb. 4–6 as a guest of the WSU Visiting Writer series. Coleman also is an artist and curator who serves as assistant director of the Arthur C. Clarke Center for Human Imagination at UC San Diego.
Owners of forests in northeast Washington will have the opportunity to learn how to keep their forests productive and healthy, wildlife-friendly, and safe from wildfire at the Forest Owners Winter School, Saturday, Feb. 1, in Colville, Wash.
Veterinary student Jessica Turner’s pet portraits will be on display through mid‑May at the Animal Health Library, part of the WSU Libraries’ “Art in the Library” program. An opening reception will take place from 4–6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the Animal Health Library in Wegner Hall 170 at WSU Pullman.
WSU students are working with the Pullman community to develop a vision for the city’s Gateway District, the area that connects WSU to downtown. A public meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 30 at 5 pm. in the Brelsford Visitor Center.
