PULLMAN – An international team of scientists from Italy, France, New Zealand, Belgium and the USA have published a draft sequence of the domestic apple genome in the current issue of Nature Genetics.

The availability of a genome sequence for the apple will allow scientists to more rapidly identify which genes provide desirable characteristics to the fruit and which genes and gene variants provide disease or drought resistance to the plant. WSU/UI career fair open to public Feb. 7 & 8

University of Idaho’s colleges of Natural Resources and Agricultural and Life Sciences, in cooperation with Washington State University’s College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences, will host an annual career fair featuring a variety of corporations, federal and state agencies, and non-profit groups. This fair is sponsored by a UI-WSU partnership of student organizations.The fair is free and open to the public.
