WSU brand campaign presentation set for Oct. 16

The campaign will emphasize WSU’s far-reaching impact on research and education, in Washington state and around the world.

University Marketing and Communications will highlight and explain the institution’s first brand advertising campaign in nearly two decades during a presentation next week.

The Here We Go campaign showcase is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Oct. 16 and will be broadcast via Zoom.

The goal is to elevate awareness of WSU as a leader among public universities via paid digital advertisements, social media, and billboards, among other venues. As part of the campaign, which formally launched Sept. 9, brand promotion and enrollment-related calls to action also are being presented in Spanish to better communicate WSU’s mission and opportunities to diverse communities across the state.

Nearly 7,000 individuals contributed to the quantitative research conducted as part of the campaign preparation, which helped the UMC team working on the project to produce a first-of-its-kind brand scorecard. This scorecard revealed how much different groups know about WSU and their perceptions of its efforts.

WSU Vice President of Marketing and Communications Phil Weiler and Assistant Vice President Holly Sitzmann briefed members of the WSU Board of Regents about the campaign in-depth as part of last month’s meetings in Pullman.

More information on the Here We Go campaign is available on the initiative’s website.
