Professor Guy Palmer will present “Global health research at WSU: Inclusive from childhood nutrition to pandemic virus hunting” for the Vice President for Research Distinguished Lecture at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11.
The event, formerly known as Dad’s Weekend, takes place Oct. 15–17 and will feature a variety of organized events as well as opportunities to explore campus and the community.
Early registration for the event hosted by WSU’s Student American Veterinary Medical Association ends Oct. 10. The race begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, in front of Bustad Hall on the Pullman campus.
The Oct. 7 event is hosted by WSU Tri‑Cities, in partnership with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and WSU Center for Arts and Humanities, and can be viewed online.
Helping to bridge divides of understanding within communities is at the heart of four free, public presentations by WSU Humanities professors to be hosted online in October.
Participants will receive two pasta samples from Black Cypress restaurant in Pullman, answer a short questionnaire about texture and flavor preferences, and receive a $20 gift card to the establishment.

A WSU team received a 3‑year, $750,000 grant to develop a curriculum for building science certificates and a degree focused on energy-efficient housing.
