In this training program you will learn about conducting a vehicle inspection, safe driving skills and driving environments. Additional driving concerns and collision reporting procedures are also discussed. This program is highly recommended for drivers of WSU cargo or passenger vans. This MIGHT be our last weekend for cherry sales depending upon the amount and quality of fruit left after this weekend is over.  Discounted prices this week for more than 5 pounds of sweet cherries and for more than 10 pounds of pie cherries.  More apricot varieties are ripe and ready for you to pick.  We also have sweet and sour (pie) cherries for you to pick.  The berries that are available include red currants, gooseberries and a few red raspberries.  We will have some already picked sweet cherries and apricots.   2. A UPS ground package from KarmaLoop. The package is addressed to Stacy Canada, 100 Dairy Rd, Pullman, WA. The package contains a necklace described as THE BLACK JESUS PIECE IN GOLD.

There will be a temporary traffic revision on Grimes Way this weekend, August 2nd and 3rd (Saturday and Sunday) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day to allow an Avista construction crew to work on the power infrastructure for the PACCAR (Clean Tech) building project. Both lanes of traffic will be closed.  A detour will be provided via Alumni Way and Lincoln Drive to avoid the construction site.  Traffic controllers and flaggers will be present. Thank You and “Go Cougs”.

The Student Recreation Center (SRC) will be closed Sunday, Aug. 3, until Saturday, Aug. 9, for semiannual renovations and cleaning. The SRC will resume normal summer hours on Sunday, Aug. 10. Renovations during closed week include refinishing of all of the SRC courts, cleaning of all surfaces and equipment, and the installation of new fitness machines. The Organic Farm will be on the Mall across from the CUB this Wednesday between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. with fresh vegetables.  Come by to see the summer crops.  The farm is also at the Pullman Farmer’s Market in the afternoon from 3:30-6 p.m.

Beguiled Again: The Songs of Rodgers and Hart” will be performed by the Washington State University School of Music at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 1 and 2, in Bryan Hall.

Tickets will be for sale at the door, an hour before each show, for $10 general admission and $5 students and seniors (60+). (more…)

Come on a trip with University Recreation’s Outdoor Recreation Center this Labor Day Weekend! You can spend Aug. 29 – Sept. 1 kayaking through scenic British Columbia along the glacially carved Slocan Lake. WSU will be moving to eXplorance Blue, as a new online course evaluation system for the university on all campuses.

After reviewing the experiences of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and technical units participating in a spring pilot, in July the Provost’s Stakeholder Review Committee recommended adopting eXplorance Blue as the university’s online course evaluation system.  The successful pilot demonstrated that the Blue system can meet university needs in terms of features, technology and business (more…)

Monday, July 21, thru Thursday, July 31, Colorado St. will be closed to thru traffic in front of Smith Gym and the P.E. Building while crews install new utilities for the Northside Residence Hall phase 2 project. Access to the green 2 lot in front of Smith Gym will remain open, please follow traffic signage and personnel during this time.

The WSU community is invited to meet Kenneth Arkow, candidate for the position of manager, Cougar Studios, University Communications’ video production unit. Mr. Arkow will be available for Q&A starting at 1:15 p.m. on July 30 in ITB 2025. This open forum will not be available by video conference.

The McNair Achievement Program prepares undergraduates for graduate education. The program is seeking a Graduate Assistant for the 2014-15 academic year. Primary duties include co-teaching INTERDIS 490: McNair Preparation for Graduate School, mentoring McNair Scholars, event planning, and social media communication with current Scholars and Alumni. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and CV to Program Director, Dr. Raymond Herrera, no later than 8 a.m., Aug. 4, 2014. The CUB Elevator and Stair Tower will be closed to the public from 7/28/2014 to 8/19/2014, due to elevator service,  and construction of a new elevator entry on second level of CUB tower connecting to the new Football Operations Building.  The stairway east of the CUB Tower will remain open.   Pathway revision for ADA passage will be through Terrell Library to Terrell Mall.  Detour signs will be posted.
