This local hands-on computer lab, taking place from 9-11 a.m., will introduce you to Zotero, a free, open source alternative to reference manager systems such as EndNote and ProCite. Zotero allows you to easily save bibliographic details, comments, indexing terms, and direct links to webpages, word documents, and even articles that are in library subscription databases such as Worldwide Political Science Abstracts, JSTOR, and PubMed. When you are ready to write, you can use Zotero to integrate your references into your work in many citation styles using Microsoft Word. The class will also provide an overview of the free web-based reference management tools Connotea and CiteULike.
