The Lewis Alumni Centre will be the focal point of Cougar Nation this weekend, as thousands of proud members of the Washington State University community travel to Pullman to celebrate Homecoming.
This year’s Homecoming Pep Rally – hosted by the Washington State University Alumni Association – begins at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23. The sound of Cougar spirit will echo across the campus, as members of the WSU Marching Band and Spirit Squad fill the courtyard with iconic music and cheers.
This year’s pep rally culminates with a distinctly modern spectacle – a WSU-themed drone show in the skies above the alumni centre. The show is made possible with support from Pullman Regional Hospital, the official hospital and healthcare team for WSU Athletics.
A video showcasing the drone company’s halftime performance at Lumen Field is available below:
During the pep rally, attendees can grab a bite at the Indigenous Eats food truck as well as libations from Pullman-based Paddock Spirits or sample some WSU-crafted wines. WSUAA will also recognize the classes of 1956, 1966, 1976 and 1986, which are celebrating their 70th, 60th, 50th, and 40th class reunions this year, respectively. As part of the celebration, four registered attendees who are at the event will win Alaska Airlines roundtrip travel vouchers.
Prior to Saturday’s game against No. 23 Boise State, the alumni centre will host a Crimson & Gray Gathering from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event will include a build-your-own Cougar Koozie bar, music, outdoor games and activities, and more.
As part of a new Homecoming tradition, the WSU Alumni Association is inviting Cougs around the world to participate in the inaugural Cougar Week of Service. Members of the WSU community can join in by doing volunteering in their local communities in whatever way is most meaningful to them in the week leading up to Homecoming. More information is available on the WSU Alumni Association website.
Saturday’s Homecoming Pac-12 clash against Boise State is scheduled for a 3 p.m. kickoff. More information about gameday weekend activities happening throughout the season is available on WSU Gameday website.
