Network outage, Dec. 21 and Dec. 22

Information Technology Services (ITS) will be replacing Pullman border equipment as part of the Wide Area Network (WAN) project starting at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, until 2 a.m. on Thursday Dec. 22.

Impacting all of the WSU system, this scheduled work will result in several complete internet outages lasting up to 30 minutes at a time, throughout the full maintenance window.

This work will affect all processes dependent on WSU Pullman resources. This includes, but is not limited to, myWSU, Workday, email, authentication, VPN, internet connectivity, and phones for external calls. Canvas should not be impacted as there is no dependency on WSU Pullman for this service.

All users should carry a mobile phone when on campus during this maintenance. If a 911 call is initiated during one of the above noted outages, the call will not complete. It is highly recommended to have a mobile phone available and nearby in case of emergency.

Non-service impacting staging will begin at 6 p.m., and service impacting work will begin at 8 p.m, with the entire maintenance window reserved for this work thereafter.
