Animate(d) Architecture named finalist for 2025 Next Generation Indie Book Award

Animate(d) Architecture: A Spatial Investigation of the Moving Image, edited by WSU faculty Vahid Vahdat, has been named a finalist for the best Anthology of 2025 by Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Published by Liverpool University Press, the book examines the role of space in animation, including in creating humorous moments in early cartoon shorts, generating action and suspense in Japanese anime, and even stimulating erotic pleasure in pornographic Hentai. The Next Generation Indie Book Awards honor publications that demonstrate originality, relevance, and creative rigor across diverse genres.
