WSU, UI students dive into submarine competition

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) – Connor Halliday threw for 346 yards and four first-half touchdown passes, two to Gabe Marks, and Washington State improved to 3-1 with a dominating 42-0 win over neighboring Idaho Saturday night.

It was the third straight game Halliday had thrown for more than 300 yards and the eighth time in his career.

The shutout was the first for the Cougars since 2003, when they blanked the Vandals, 25-0, to open the 2003 season.

Student senates at WSU and the U of I are sponsoring the 2009 Career Fair

PULLMAN – Over 35 employers will be visiting the Palouse to talk with students about summer employment, internships and career positions.


The 2009 WSU-UI Career Fair will take place on Jan. 27 at WSU’s Ensminger Pavilion and Jan. 28 at the UI Sub Ballroom from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.


Recruiters representing large national and international companies, smaller regional businesses, and state and federal agencies will be seeking employees.


Undergraduate and graduate students in all majors are encouraged to attend either location. Students should bring their resumes as some employers will be doing on-site interviews.

Conner Museum receives zoological collection from U of I

The Conner Museum at Washington State University has been given a collection of approximately 7,000 bird and mammal specimens by the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Idaho. The Conner Museum, which already holds some 1,000 display and more than 65,000 research specimens, will greatly benefit from the addition according to Richard Johnson, Conner Museum director. “The collection is in very good shape,” said Johnson. “Many of the specimens were collected in the 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s.
