Resilient, inspirational philanthropist receives alumni award

Gleason-SPOKANE, Wash. – Steve Gleason of New Orleans, philanthropist and former professional football player, was honored at Gleason Fest in Spokane on Saturday, Aug. 8, with the Washington State University Alumni Association (WSUAA) Alumni Achievement Award in recognition of the work he and Team Gleason do to raise awareness and find a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Survivor, philanthropist to give lecture March 30

Trish May, a former Microsoft marketing executive and cancer research philanthropist, will visit Washington State University to make a presentation titled “The Power of One: How Each of Us Can Make a Difference” on March 30.The presentation, which is open to the public, will take place at 5:30 p.m. in Todd Room 276.May, a cancer survivor, will also accept a $1,500 donation from the WSU Marketing Club to help in her fight against breast cancer.
