Recruit suite named for Steve Gleason – ‘an inspiration’

GleasonPULLMAN, Wash. – The recruiting room inside the Cougar Football Complex at Washington State University has been named the Steve Gleason Recruit Suite in honor of the WSU Athletic Hall of Famer who played football and baseball 1995-99 and in the NFL 2000-07 for the New Orleans Saints.

Student regent named; Forgette reappointed

William (Billy) Gordon, a WSU senior majoring in psychology and finance, has been named the student member of the WSU Board of Regents for the 2007-2008 academic year.

Gordon’s selection as WSU’s tenth student regent was made last month by Gov. Christine Gregoire. The appointment runs through June 30, 2008.

The governor also announced the reappointment of Francois Forgette of Kennewick to a six-year term on the board ending September 2013.

Library naming honors president Glenn Terrell

Glenn Terrell, former WSU president, was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 4, in the library’s atrium.The ceremony officially renamed the library from the New Library to Terrell Library, honoring the university’s seventh president, who served from 1967-1985. The New Library is connected to Holland Library.Terrell lives in Seattle. Speakers at the event included WSU President V. Smith Center dedication May 9

A public dedication of the Samuel H. Smith Center for Undergraduate Education at Washington State University is set for 10:30 a.m. May 9. It will be held on the Cyber Café patio, located on the center’s first floor. A reception and tours follow the ceremony.WSU President V.
