Scott Carson awarded WSU Foundation’s top honor

PULLMAN, Wash – WSU Foundation presented its highest honor — the Weldon B. “Hoot” Gibson Distinguished Volunteer Award — to retired Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and CEO Scott Carson during the 38th Annual Recognition Gala in Pullman, Sept. 28.

Carson-80PULLMAN, Wash. – More than 1,000 students attended the recent naming celebration of the Washington State University Carson College of Business, along with alumni, faculty, staff, friends and Carson family members, to recognize Scott and Linda Carson’s generosity and longtime support of WSU.

Boeing president named as regent

OLYMPIA – Gov. Chris Gregoire announced on Monday, Sept. 10, the appointment of Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and chief executive officer Scott Carson of Federal Way to the WSU Board of Regents.

“Scott Carson has a deep interest in education issues and WSU has been an important part of his life ever since he graduated as a Cougar with his bachelor’s degree,” said Gregoire. “He will be a strong advocate for WSU and I am pleased to welcome him to the Board of Regents.”

First endowed chair in marketing awarded

PULLMAN — The first endowed chair in marketing at Washington State University has been awarded to David Sprott, associate professor of marketing . The Boeing Scott and Linda Carson Chair in Marketing was established in fall 2005 by a gift from The Boeing Company honoring Scott and Linda Carson’s leadership and dedication to higher education, and by an additional gift from the Carson family. In addition to serving as the Boeing executive for WSU, Scott Carson (’72 B.A. Business Administration) served as chair of the College of Business National Board of Advisors during 2005-2006.Together with their family, Scott and Linda Carson funded the creation of the … » More …
