Hotel developer, manager receives WSU alumni award

PULLMAN, Wash. – Larry Culver, retired hotel developer and manager, was honored Feb. 25 with the Washington State University Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Award in recognition of his career as an innovative leader in the hospitality industry and his service to WSU.

The Cougar Pride Award will be presented to alumni, former students and friends of WSU who have consistently demonstrated extraordinary loyalty, spirit and pride in support of the university.

Alumni Assoc. sets record for events engagement

PULLMAN -The Washington State University Alumni Association (WSUAA) is celebrating a banner year in alumni engagement. In fiscal year 2009, WSUAA volunteers were actively engaged in more than 407 alumni events attended by over 10,000 people — up from 275 events last year.  


The WSUAA hosted events primarily in Pullman and Seattle while providing support for events hosted by its 30 alumni chapters and clubs across the state and the country. Attendance at the 2009 Golden and Diamond Graduate reunions in Pullman increased over last year, bucking national trends toward low participation at alumni gatherings such as reunions.

Tree added to Arboretum; walkway to be constructed

Washington State University’s annual Presidential Tree Planting ceremony took place May 3 on the southeast side of the WSU arboretum east of Hulbert Hall and north of the Lewis Alumni Centre. Murrow grad to head alumni

Tim Pavish, managing partner of DDB Worldwide Inc. in Seattle and a 1980 graduate of Washington State University’s Edward R.
