Through July 1: Museum of Art displays newest works

PULLMAN, Wash. – Andy Warhol and Jim Dine prints, as well as Northwest works from the Seattle Art Museum, will be among the pieces on exhibit through July 1 in “From the Collection: New Acquisitions” at the Washington State University Museum of Art.

The free show will offer a rare glimpse of recent gifts to the museum’s permanent collection. Over the last five years, more than 500 works have increased the collection to about 3,500 unique objects, mostly from the 20th and 21st centuries.

The collection is an educational resource for the campus, area schools and the public and a reminder of the generosity of many donors.

Additionally, donations have been accepted from individuals, such as Scott Patnode’s gift of five American and British works, Jane Orleman’s donation of her late husband Richard C. Elliott’s prints, Patricia Patterson’s donation of prints by Sister Mary Corita Kent and Sean Elwood’s continued giving – tallying over 300 artworks.
