The Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) has opened the call for abstracts for the 2026 GPSA Research Exposition, scheduled for March 26 at Beasley Coliseum.

The annual event serves as a cornerstone of Washington State University’s Academic Showcase week, offering graduate and professional students across the WSU system the opportunity to present their work to the university community, gain professional feedback, and compete for top honors.

“We celebrate the hard work, creativity, and dedication of our students who continue to push the boundaries of knowledge across diverse disciplines,” said the GPSA Awards and Scholarships Committee in a statement inviting participation.

How to participate

To maximize their visibility, graduate and professional students are encouraged to submit abstracts to both the Academic Showcase and the GPSA Research Expo. The submission deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 21.

A legacy of excellence

The Research Expo is a long-standing tradition that highlights the university’s robust research profile. It provides a unique opportunity for students to refine their presentation skills and network with faculty and peers outside their immediate disciplines.

Participating students also compete for significant recognition. Each year, GPSA awards scholarships to approximately 22 students for the best poster presentations in their respective categories. Prizes are awarded based on evaluations by judges holding doctoral degrees, ensuring students receive high-level feedback on their academic communication.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to support their graduate students in submitting abstracts. The expo not only highlights individual student success but also elevates the profile of departmental research achievements across the WSU system.
