2022 Showcase award winners announced

The Office of the Provost has announced the names of faculty and staff to receive this year’s top honors for scholarship, teaching, service, and community engagement.

Awardees will be recognized at Showcase, an annual weeklong event that celebrates academic excellence. Showcase events are scheduled to kick off Monday, March 21 and run through the following Monday, March 28.

Keri McCarthy, professor in the School of Music, will deliver this year’s Distinguished Faculty Address on Monday, March 21, in recognition of her scholarly achievements. Her speech will be livestreamed via experience.wsu.edu.

McCarthy has built global awareness of music from Asia and the United States. She has earned international acclaim as a chamber musician, soloist, teacher, and clinician.

Along with McCarthy, more than a dozen WSU faculty and staff will be recognized as part of Showcase 2022.

“Please join me in congratulating and celebrating these outstanding members of our academic community,” said Provost and Executive Vice President Elizabeth Chilton. “All of them have contributed greatly to their disciplines and to the university. They have made key discoveries, found creative ways to solve pressing world problems, helped our students to achieve their best, and made WSU and the world a better place.”
