Students arriving for the new academic year are being welcomed with movies, free food, concerts and more across the WSU system.

Classes start Aug. 20 systemwide but move-in already is underway on the Pullman campus, where residence halls opened Saturday for crowds of early arrivals. Expect large crowds again on Wednesday for the 2018-19 academic year’s formal move-in day, which coincides with the start of the Week of Welcome festivities.

The annual Pullman tradition kicks off with a new student pep rally and class photo. The week also features the University Convocation and the always popular All-Campus Picnic, both on Friday, Aug. 17, along with free movies, concerts, and residence hall activities throughout the week. A full list of events can be found at the Week of Welcome website.

Also for those in Pullman, the annual National Lentil Festival returns August 17 and 18 at Reaney Park and surrounding areas.
