Participate in ‘Find Your Balance Challenge’

PULLMAN  –  Dining Services and the WSU Wellbeing program are partnering to bring WSU students the “Find Your Balance Challenge.”  The challenge is devoted to inspiring the combination of healthy eating habits and exercising to improve physical wellbeing.

The challenge will take place during the month of March.  March is National Nutrition Month®, a nutrition and information campaign sponsored by the American Dietetic Association.  For full details on the Find Your Balance Challenge and information on National Nutrition Month visit:  wellbeing.wsu.edu or dining.wsu.edu.

Here is how the Find Your Balance Challenge works:
– Eat 10 Healthy Options at Hillside Café, Northside Café, Southside Café, or Carlita’s,
– Exercise 10 times at the Student Recreation Center, and
– Earn a chance to win a $300 Grand Prize

Students will track their progress during March by picking up a Stamp Card from: Student Recreation Center, Carlita’s (in the CUB), Hillside Café, Northside Café, and Southside Café.  The challenge for students is to fill-up their card with all “10 and 10”.  They need to ask a Dining Center Cashier or Student Recreation Center Desk Attendant to stamp their card each time they visit the SRC or buy a Healthy Option.

Students will enter-in their completed Stamp Cards to a raffle-drawing at the SEB’s Mom’s Weekend Up All Night on April 3, 2009 at the CUB for a chance to participate in the Find Your Balance Contest.  The contest will be a “game show” style event.  Six to eight students will be selected to compete against each other in the game show.  The winner of the Find Your Balance contest will win one of the Grand Prizes, including an iPod Shuffle, a Nike HeartRate Monitor Watch, a Nike Plus System, and a coupon toward a pair of athletic shoes.

Every participant who completes the Find Your Balance Challenge will also receive a Healthy Options Prize Pack.  Students may exchange their stamp card beginning April 3 at the Find Your Balance Contest, or any time after April 3 at the Student Recreation Center to receive a prize pack while supplies last.
