WSU holds “Civic Leaders Change Your World” community involvement fair

PULLMAN – The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) at WSU is hosting a community involvement fair for students and the campus community: Civic Leaders Change Your World, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 4 in the Compton Union Building Junior Ballroom – room 210.

This is a drop-in event for students and members of the WSU community to learn about engagement opportunities available through local community organizations. Over 100 local agencies have been invited to participate.

CCE offers WSU students, faculty, campus departments and community partners’ opportunities to share knowledge, skills and resources for the benefit of student learning and the well-being of our communities. Each academic year over 3,200 students at WSU participate in service activities developed by the Center for Civic Engagement.

As the new Obama administration issues a call to service for all Americans – and in particular, college students, the CCE is looking at opportunities to broaden community partnerships in order to meet the growing interest in civic engagement.

The Civic Leaders Change Your World Community Involvement Fair is one way to advance development of civic engagement opportunities for WSU students, as well as a venue to further meet the needs of the community-based organizations throughout the Palouse and the state of Washington.
