Brown-bag workshops aid administrative professionals

A series of informal workshops is helping administrative professional (AP) managers and supervisors learn from each others’ experiences and tap into the expertise that exists within the WSU ranks.

The next workshop is scheduled for noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, in Lighty 405. The topic, “Supervising Temporary Employees,” will be presented by Laurie Stemmene, Human Resource Services; Jane Parker, Student Advising and Learning Center; and Barb Hammond, Counseling Services.

The workshops are offered by the Administrative Professional Advisory Council (APAC) and Human Resource Services. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunches.

Topics scheduled for future workshops include leave policies, dealing with staff issues, performance management and more. Enrollment is limited. Find schedules and register online at www.hrs.wsu.edu (click on Leadership Development and AP links) or at www.apac.wsu.edu (click on News link).

Non-Pullman administrative professionals can participate via WECN or videostream. In addition to online registration, non-Pullman participants must notify rcross@wsu.edu no later than one week in advance of the workshop in order to be connected.
