Starting fall semester 2019, Zoom, WSU’s new video communications platform, will replace Blackboard Collaborate as the supported web and video conferencing tool. Access to Blackboard Collaborate Original and Ultra will no longer be available as of September 1.
All current students, staff, and faculty have access to Zoom Pro licenses. To access your account, go to wsu.zoom.us.
Zoom is easy to use, with features optimized to meet the needs of modern learners. Instructors are encouraged to attend Learning Innovations’ Webconference training on August 20 to learn more about the tool and how it can be used to conduct real time class sessions, host remote presenters, office hours, and more. If you’re unable to attend the Aug. 20 session, you or your work group can request on-demand training. Also review a quick tutorial on the Learning Innovations website.
To simplify interaction and collaboration among students and faculty, Zoom can be accessed in Blackboard Learn course spaces. In the navigation menu, under “Tools” select “Zoom Meeting.”
