The Learning Innovations team is excited to offer this Special Topic training event on April 11 from 11:10 a.m.–noon. We hope you will join.
Brian Malone, Learning Innovations’ Instructional Design and Faculty Liaison, will be leading an interactive training on “Using Canvas When Teaching In Person.”
What purpose does Canvas serve when you are teaching a face-to-face course? Much of the learning in your class happens outside of the physical classroom as students study and complete work outside of the scheduled meeting times. Beyond simply hosting all the files you share with students, Canvas has the potential to structure how students learn outside of class. This training reviews various module structures to demonstrate how intentional course design can improve students’ user experience. We reflect on our current Canvas course spaces and brainstorm how different organizational structures might remove some of the administrative burden of teaching and give you more time to plan powerful learning experiences. The training will be held over Zoom and will include an interactive breakout room component.
The event will occur over Zoom and you can register by visiting the Training Offerings page and selecting the button to “View and Register for Upcoming Trainings.”
