Upcoming events from Learning Innovations

  • “Using Canvas When Teaching In-Person”
    April 11, 11:10 a.m.–noon on Zoom

Presented by Brian Malone, Instructional Design and Faculty Liaison at Learning Innovations

What purpose does Canvas serve when you are teaching a face-to-face course? Beyond hosting your files for students, Canvas has the potential to structure how students learn outside of class. This training reviews various module structures to demonstrate how intentional course design can improve students’ user experience and remove some of the administrative burden, giving you more time to plan powerful learning experiences.

  • “Productive Struggle: What Matters Most When Creating Academically Rigorous Learning Environments”
    April 19, 3–4:30 p.m. on Zoom

    Panel discussion

Professors Erika Offerdahl (Molecular Biosciences), Kate Watts (English), and Paul Krouss (Mathematics) will join instructional designers Brian Malone and Lindsay Barkley-Clausen in conversation on what it means to create academically rigorous learning environments while mindfully removing barriers to student success. After the panel conversation, we will invite audience members for a Q&A session.
