Karen joined Simpson Strong-Tie in 1984 as an engineer in the Research and Development. In 1994, she became Manager of R&D and was promoted to Vice President of Engineering in 1997. In 2006, Karen continued as VP and took on the role of Branch Manager for the Simpson Strong-Tie Stockton, California manufacturing facility where she successfully ran one of their largest profit centers.  She then transitioned into the role of CFO, Treasurer, and Board Secretary in 2009 then began her current role as the CEO of Simpson Manufacturing in 2012
