Beginning April 1, all PEBB benefit-eligible faculty, staff and hourly employees will be required to participate in an attestation period to address upcoming premium surcharges. If an employee fails to respond during April 1 – May 15, the following will take place:
Spouse or Domestic Partner Coverage Surcharge: Effective with the July premiums, employees will incur a $50/mth spouse or domestic partner premium surcharge if the employee has a spouse or domestic partner enrolled on their account.
Tobacco Use Surcharge:Effective with the July premiums, employees will incur the $25/mth tobacco use premium surcharge.
Employees may have the option to correct their account at a future time. Please be aware that if a future correction is made, there may be no refund of past paid premiums. Employees who miss the April 1 – May 15 period to make their election, should contact HRS at 509-335-4521 or hrs@wsu.edu. To avoid being charged surcharges not applicable to you, respond starting April 1.
