PAYROLL-NEWS Listserve

Payroll Services has set up a new payroll listserv called PAYROLL-NEWS to communicate important payroll information and updates.  This listserv is established through IT and is separate from the payroll DEPTPAY function we will still continue to use.

What is the difference between PAYROLL-NEWS and DEPT PAY?

The DEPTPAY email list only communicates with those who have been trained in and granted access to the AIS application: DEPTPAY.  These are departmental and area personnel who input hours into Positive Pay and verify the Payroll Expenditure Audit Reports (PEARs).

Why was the PAYROLL-NEWS listserv created?

There are several reasons we have established PAYROLL-NEWS:

  • First, there are some employees who may not be users of DEPTPAY but would still benefit from news about payroll or what is happening in Payroll Services
  • Message size is limited in DEPTPAY
  • Attachments cannot be sent through DEPTPAY
  • PAYROLL-NEWS will be able to communicate broader topics to anybody interested in payroll
  • Subscribers can subscribe or unsubscribe at their own discretion

In general, PAYROLL-NEWS gives more flexibility of communication and a broader audience which we feel will benefit the WSU community we serve.

DEPTPAY emails will still be used for important messages directed to the users of DEPTPAY.

The Notices and Announcements section is provided as a service to the WSU community for sharing events such as lectures, trainings, and other highly transactional types of information related to the university experience. Information provided and opinions expressed may not reflect the understanding or opinion of WSU. Accuracy of the information presented is the responsibility of those who submitted it. The self-uploaded posts are reviewed for compliance with state statutes and ethics guidelines but are not edited for spelling, grammar, or clarity.
