The Department of Physics and Astronomy and the SPIE student chapter invites all to a colloquium featuring Dr. Marija Strojnik Scholl of the Optical Research Center, Infrared Group, Leon, Gto., Mexico. Pumpkins will be propelled from portals to produce pulverized pulp for a dazzling presentation of scientific prowess! This year’s annual Pumpkin Drop and “The Marvels of Science” will take place Saturday, November 7, at 10 :30 a.m. in the mall area between ISP and Webster Physical Sciences. The event endeavors to recreate the experiment performed by Galileo that  established the Law of Falling Bodies (the one that proved that all bodies fall at the same rate). Although, we admit this is more fun and pumpkins than actual science. (more…)

 Beginning on Monday, November 9,  the sidewalk between Fulmer Syn. and Troy Hall will be closed to pedestrian traffic. The closure is expected to remain thru the spring of 2017, while Troy Hall undergoes remodeling activities. Please follow all signage indicating alternate routes during this closure.  We appreciate your patience as this project is completed.

The Washington State women’s basketball team returns to Beasley Coliseum to host an exhibition game on Sunday, Nov. 8, against Lewis-Clark State at 1 p.m. Admission to the game is FREE for all fans.

Following the game the team will host a free youth clinic for boys and girls in eighth grade and younger and will feature instruction from the WSU basketball coaching staff and student-athletes. Following the clinic, participants can stay for autographs from the WSU student-athletes.
