March for Science Slated for April 22

The March for Science (the Palouse) is slated to start at 1 p.m. on April 22 starting at Pine Street Plaza (the plaza between Thomas Hammer and Taco del Mar).   The march, which is one of hundreds of marches around the country, is a regional affiliate of the national March for Science, which is happening on April 22 in Washington D.C.    The purpose of the march is to call attention to the importance of science in our daily lives, to advocate for support for the sciences at all levels from the local to the national, and to provide opportunities for science-focused activism.  Participants will march from the plaza to Reaney Park, where there will be opportunities to listen to speakers and participate in science-supporting activism.

Speakers include several WSU-affiliated scientists, including Dr. Guy Worthey, Dr. Larry Fox, and Dr. Von Walden.   Also speaking will be a number of science advocates and WSU graduate students.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend!
