Please join the President’s Commission for Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation (GIESO) as we host Tina Krauss for a special LGBTQ+ History event!
Tina Krauss works with students interested in Pharmacy, Optometry, and Vet School. She has spent the last 10 years advising criminal justice and bio/zoology students at WSU. Tina has two degrees from WSU, including a BA in Communications (Advertising) and an MA in American Studies Digital University with an emphasis in Women’s Studies.
Tina was actively involved in the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Allies center (GLBA), the precursor to today’s WSU LGBT Center, during her time as an undergrad in the 1990s. As a grad student in 2005, she was chosen by then-WSU President V. Lane Rawlins to serve as one of the original 10 members of the newly formed President’s Commission. During her talk, Tina will share with us some of her perspectives about the growth of LGBTQ+ advocacy at WSU, as well as some of her frustrations and hopes for the future.
Refreshments will be served, so please come have a snack and join us for this special event!
