Everett Wind Energy Team partners with KidWind at Technology Student Association State Conference

The Everett Wind Energy Team in conjunction with KidWind will participate in the Technology Student Association (TSA) Washington State Conference on Friday, March 18 at the Doubletree by Hilton Seattle Airport Convention Center.

Students from WSU Everett and Everett Community College will facilitate a KidWind activity that allows students to explore the power of wind by building and testing their own wind turbines. Additionally, WSU Everett will have a presence at the TSA Educational Fair taking place the same day.

“As faculty advisor for the Everett Wind Energy Team, a collaboration between the students of WSU Everett and Everett Community College, I am very excited that we will be participating in the 2022 Washington TSA Conference,” said Gordon Taub, Scholarly Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Material Science Engineering at WSU Everett. “This is a great opportunity for our students to pass on what they have learned about wind energy to a younger generation. It is also a wonderful opportunity for the students at Everett Community College and WSU Everett to demonstrate what the 2+2 higher education model has to offer as a path forward for high school students who have an interest in STEM fields.”

1,100 students, teachers, and educational leaders will attend the conference, where Washington TSA members come together to share their talents, learn from industry, and participate in dozens of competitive events.
