E. Paul Catts Memorial Lecture

The Department of Entomology invites you to the E. Paul Catts Memorial Lecture to be held on Thursday, April  9, at 6 p.m. in CUE 203. This year’s E. Paul Catts  Memorial Lecturer is Dr. Claire Kremen, professor & faculty member at the University of California Berkeley.  Dr. Kremen is also the Co-Director of the Berkeley Food Institute and the Director of the Center for Diversified Farming Systems.  Her presentation is titled A Bee’s Eye Perspective on Sustainable Agriculture.  Dr. Kremen will also be giving a special lecture in the Entomology Department at noon on Friday, April 10, in FSHN 354 titled: Diversifying Landscapes in California’s Central Valley to Restore Pollinator Populations and Services.  The AMS dial # for the Friday seminar is 5708433.   For more information about Dr. Kremen go to:  http://nature.berkeley.edu/kremenlab/.

The E. Paul Catts Memorial Lecture honors Dr. Paul Catts who was revered as an excellent teacher, public speaker and artist. The lectureship was endowed in 2001; major contributors included Ann B. Catts, Elizabeth Beers, Frank Peryea, and John and Ruth Brown. See the attached flyer for more information about the event.
