ASWSU: Primary election cancelled

Election board chair Zachary Anders has announced that executive ticket for president and vice president, Kevin Lindquist and Nikki Newberg have withdrawn from the ballot.

As a result, the primary election scheduled to begin February 21 has been cancelled. Per the Bylaws, three tickets do not warrant a primary election. The general election debate remains scheduled on March 6 at 5 p.m. in the CUB Senior Ballroom with the three remaining tickets. Polls will open immediately following the debate.

An election violation allegation has been made and an active investigation is underway at the discretion of the Election Board. Election violation procedures can be found under 614.03 in the ASWSU Bylaws. Any request for comment will not include information regarding the specifics of the violation until the investigation concludes or a successful public records request is made.
