Faculty and staff winners of this year’s Showcase awards were announced today ahead of the weeklong celebration of academic excellence, which takes place online March 22–29.

Nairanjana “Jan” Dasgupta has been elected president of the international Caucus for Women in Statistics for a one-year term to begin in 2021.
Sarah Murphy is one of 62 outstanding students from across the United States selected for the award.
Tammy Barry serves as the WSU Graduate School’s associate dean in charge of program assessment and review. Jon Walter is an administrative planning specialist with the department of Institutional Research.
Bose, a Regents professor and distinguished professor in power in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, was selected in November as one of 29 foreign academics.
In recognition of his lifetime business achievements and enduring contributions to education, research, technology and the arts, Mark Pigott will receive an honorary doctoral degree during Fall Commencement on Dec. 7.
Professors Kris Kowdley and Yuehe Lin have been named Highly Cited Researchers for 2019 by Web of Science Group.
The designation recognizes institutions that have documented results of academic accomplishment and showcase innovative uses of technology in learning, teaching and the school environment.
Kunter Gunasti, assistant professor of marketing, was cited for his work as a co‑author on a research paper examining consumer preferences for copycat brands.
Graduate student Mykala Anglin has earned the Ferrucci Award for her efforts to help educators learn to use technology in the classroom.
