PULLMAN – WSU Men’s and Women’s intramural basketball teams were victorious at the Pac-10 Intramural Basketball Tournament, March 13 and 14.

The tournament was hosted by USC and UCLA in Los Angeles. It received attention from Fox Sports television and was attended by 17,000 fans. WSU Men’s team beat Arizona in the championship game 58-55 and WSU Women’s teams beat Oregon 47-38.

In addition to traditional basketball games, there was a coed, two-ball competition held during half time of the USC-UCLA Men’s game at Staples Court. Two-ball teams consist of one man and one woman. To play, the teammates take turns shooting from designated court lines, trying to make as many shots as possible in a minute. In the two-ball competition, WSU beat Oregon.

Mike Munson of USC recreational sports said, “There was some impressive basketball, excellent sportsmanship and great friendships developed during this LA Pac-10 Basketball weekend.”
