EVERETT, WA — Hayley Statema, Director of Development at WSU Everett, won the 2023 Snohomish County Emerging Leaders Award in recognition of her initiative, collaborative leadership, accomplishments, vision for DEI, and community involvement. The award was presented at the Schack Art Center on Thursday, April 13.
Statema plays an active role in the community, including volunteering for the nonprofit networking group Engage Everett, supporting the Downtown Everett Association, Domestic Violence Services Snohomish County, and the Providence Hospice Foundation. Additionally, she serves as president of the WSU Alumni Association’s Snohomish County chapter.
She recently joined WSU Everett as the director of development. Prior to her current role, she served on the WSU Everett Advisory Council and managed donor development at March of Dimes. Before that, Statema was the communications specialist at ChildStrive in Everett. Statema attended Cascade High School and Everett Community College through the Running Start program. A first-generation college student, she graduated from WSU Everett in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in integrated strategic communications.
