Nominations are being sought from within the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences for an interim leader following the announcement today that Dean André‑Denis Wright has accepted a new position in Oklahoma.

Wright, who took the helm at CAHNRS in June 2018, will serve as senior vice president and provost at the Norman campus for the University of Oklahoma. His last day at WSU will be June 30.

“Dean Wright has been a strong leader and advocate for CAHNRS and Extension during the challenging past three years of WSU fiscal recovery and COVID response,” said Provost and Executive Vice President Elizabeth Chilton. “We are grateful for Dr. Wright’s leadership at WSU and wish him the very best.”

Chilton has initiated an internal call within CAHNRS for interim dean nominations. Information about the process has been sent directly to CAHNRS faculty and staff.  Nominations will be due by May 7 and an interim dean will be announced before Wright’s departure.

“In the meantime, I appreciate Dean Wright’s commitment to a successful transition,” Chilton said. “The College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences is stronger today because of Dean Wright’s leadership and his commitment to faculty, staff, and students.”
