WSU debuts new commercial during 2026 Boeing Apple Cup

The depth and breadth of Washington State University’s work across the state took center stage in a new commercial that debuted during this year’s Boeing Apple Cup.

The 30-second commercial touched on several of the university’s most prominent research accomplishments, including the development of climate-resilient apples, contributions to the state’s robust wine industry, and its role in the future of renewable fuels. It also welcomes viewers to become a part of the Cougar family.

Members of the University Marketing and Communication’s team worked with an external production company to development the final commercial. This included helping to scout locations across the state, from Prosser to the Tri-Cities to Pullman, and connect production staff with WSU students, faculty, and staff who contribute to its work systemwide.

“When you have a project like this, everyone is eager to jump in and help, and that cooperation is essential to creating an outstanding final product,” Jackson Price, UMC’s creative director, said.

Expect to see the promotional spot airing on broadcast stations and streaming platforms.
