WSU Student Voting Hubs offer services leading up to Election Day

Washington State University Pullman’s Student Voting Hub inside the Junior Ballroom of the Compton Union Building will be offering ballot printing services as well as providing information to voters on Oct. 30 and Nov. 2.

The hub is also offering voter registration services on Election Day, Nov. 3, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Faculty, staff and community members are also welcome to register to vote on Election Day at the Student Voting Hub.

The university is encouraging all members of its community to vote. In 2018, only 31.4% of Whitman County residents between the ages of 18 and 24 were registered to vote. Of those, fewer than half turned in their ballot.

WSU Pullman is hosting its voting hub in compliance with state law and in coordination with the Center for Civic Engagement, ASWSU, the Compton Union Building, and Whitman County Auditor.

Both WSU Tri-Cities and WSU Vancouver will also be serving student voters. WSU-Tri Cities will operate its hub Oct. 29, Oct. 30 and Oct. 31 as well as Nov. 2 and 3 inside its campus’ library. WSU Vancouver’s hub will be open on Election Day from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. inside the Firstenburg Student Commons.

The Pullman hub’s hours of operation on Oct. 30 will be from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 2.

Whitman County voters can turn in their completed ballots to one of several deposit boxes across the county, as well as at the Whitman County Election Center, N. 304 Main Street in Colfax. A ballot dropbox is also located in the alley behind the elections center.

Several unstaffed ballot boxes can also be found in Pullman:

  • SE Paradise Street just outside Hinrichs Trading Co.
  • On the WSU campus, outside the west entrance to the CUB on Terrell Mall
  • On the WSU campus, next to the Chinook Student Center entrance
  • Outside the entrance to Dissmores IGA, 1205 N. Grand Ave.

A staffed ballot box deposit site will also be set up on Election Day from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Pullman Recreation Center, 190 SE Crestview St. on the Gym Level.
