WSU Spokane invites public input on campus master plan

spokane-master-plan-230SPOKANE, Wash. – For the past six months, Washington State University Spokane has been working with campus leadership and university partners on a master plan to ensure there is appropriate space for future growth in the health sciences and other fields on the Spokane campus. Now it’s time to hear from the community.

Final Arboretum/Wildlife Center master plan meeting Thursday

The WSU Arboretum and Wildlife Center (AWC) master plan – which has been under development since last fall – will enter the final phase of tweaking this Thursday, April 9.

Consultants from the Seattle-based Portico Group and the Miller/Hull Partnership will present final drawings of the center concept to the AWC planning committee for feedback and discussion. Earlier meetings had produced three unique designs for the center – which have since been consolidated into single plan.

The proposed center is slated to be located on the eastern edge of campus along Airport Road – across from the current grizzly bear facility.

Participate in master plan workshops for updates on campus plans

SPOKANE – The community is invited to participate in three master plan workshops in March, April and June for an update of the Riverpoint Campus plan. The planning process, led by WSU, includes representatives of Riverpoint Campus partners Eastern Washington University and Sirti.

Workshop schedule:

Tuesday, March 17, 3-5 p.m., Riverpoint Campus Academic Center Auditorium (Room 20): Presentation of information showing a summary of the recently completed Downtown Spokane Plan, overview of current campus/neighborhood conditions, results of a 2008 space study to accommodate current health/biomedical sciences programs, and conceptual ideas for the buildout of campus to assist in the update of the master … » More …

Riverpoint campus updates master plan

SPOKANE – WSU is launching an update of the master plan for the Riverpoint Campus, last updated in 2000. An oversight committee including representatives of Eastern Washington University and Sirti as well as WSU has been established to work with the design firms that have been selected.

The process begins in April, with plans to complete the process in 120 days. Opportunities for public review and input will be announced when they are finalized.

Vancouver campus to update community on master plan

Washington State University Vancouver will host an open house on Wednesday, July 19, to address potential environmental impact from future development of the campus.
