Through Sept. 17: Faculty art explores geometric tradition

PULLMAN, Wash. – A retrospective of works by retired Washington State University faculty member Chris Watts will run Aug. 22-Sept. 17 at the Museum of Art/WSU. An opening reception at 6 p.m. and artist talk at 7 p.m. will be Thursday, Aug. 25, in the museum gallery. Admission is free.

Faculty Artist Series to play The Soldier’s Tale

PULLMAN – WSU’s School of Music Faculty Artist Series will include a special presentation of Stravinsky’s “L’Historie du Soldat” or “The Soldier’s Tale,” at 3 p.m. Oct. 28 in Bryan Hall Theatre.

The story is a staged fable originally composed for a traveling group of musicians and actors in Switzerland in 1918. The drama tells the story of the unlucky soldier who makes a Faustian bargain with the devil.

The performance will feature John Weiss as narrator, Christopher Akers as the soldier and Timothy Robblee as the devil.
