By Kate Ryan, WSU Extension CARNATION, Wash. – A free farm walk and talk will help small farmers and those who wish to farm learn more about the Cultivating Success program, which provides tools to create, develop and expand a sustainable farm operation.

By Kate Halstead, WSU Extension EVERETT, Wash. – A 12-week course, Sustainable Small-Acreage Farming and Ranching, begins Jan. 19 and will be held 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays at Washington State University Snohomish County Extension’s Cougar Auditorium, 600 128th St. SE, Everett. It is the first course in the Cultivating Success series.

EVERETT, Wash. – “Buying local” is among more people’s New Year’s resolutions. Farmers can capture a share of this trend by gaining skills in business planning and direct marketing.
