Alaska Airlines executives and WSU leaders gathered Wednesday for a series of events, including a prize-filled paper airplane toss, to celebrate the relationship between the two fixtures of the Pacific Northwest.
Engineering students from WSU’s Team Mentoring Program recently toured several Boeing facilities, awakening them to a multitude of opportunities in the aerospace industry.
WSU and Alaska Air are celebrating their partnership in a series of events on the Pullman campus Oct. 1.
400 students from 31 high schools across the Pacific Northwest will compete May 19 at WSU in the Alaska Airlines Imagine Tomorrow competition.

SEATTLE – Washington state-based Alaska Airlines today made history flying the first commercial flight using the world’s first renewable, alternative jet fuel made from forest residuals, the limbs and branches that remain after the harvesting of managed forests.
PULLMAN, Wash. – Approximately $100,000 in cash prizes was awarded to high school teams from Washington and Idaho at the Alaska Airlines’ Imagine Tomorrow competition.
