By Scott Weybright, College of Agricultural, Human & Natural Resource Sciences

pumpkinPULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Eggert Family Organic Farm will host the annual harvest party 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.

The farm is located on Animal Science Rd., off of Terre View Drive, directly behind the WSU Bear Center. Please leave pets at home.

“The harvest party provides a great opportunity to meet the organic farm crew, see your friends and enjoy the harvest and the crisp fall air,” said farm manager Brad Jaeckel. “The pumpkins look great this year and the selection will be fantastic.”

Pumpkins, sold by weight, will be available from a U-pick pumpkin patch that includes traditional jack-o-lanterns, baby pumpkins and novelty varieties. Other pre-picked farm vegetables will also be available for purchase.

The WSU Organic Agriculture Club will again be selling items as a fundraiser, including other food and drinks. They will sell carrots they grew as part of an organic seed variety trial. The club has been selling carrots to WSU Dining and Catering, the Grey W Athletics kitchen and the Moscow Food Coop.
