SPOKANE, Wash. – Four Spokane leaders have joined the advisory council for Washington State University Spokane Chancellor Lisa Brown.
They join 12 others serving on the Chancellor’s Advisory Council, which is chaired by Marty Dickinson, an executive vice president at Umpqua Bank.
They new members are:
• Latisha Hill, manager of human resources consulting and analytics at Avista Corp. in Spokane, who has served in various roles for Avista over the past decade managing corporate and community issues, participating in civic affairs and fostering economic development. She is also on the board of Empire Health Foundation and Excelerate Success.
• Manuel “Manny” Hochheimer, assistant vice president corporate and external relations, Numerica Credit Union, who has 15 years of financial industry experience and a diverse background in operations, development and management. He serves on community boards and committees including the Mayor’s Advisory Council on Multicultural Affairs and the Rotary 21 Board of Directors.
• Todd Mielke, chief executive officer of Greater Spokane Incorporated, who was a Spokane County commissioner for 11 years before assuming the GSI position in February. He has experience as a small business owner, staff member in the state senate and state legislator, and he serves on the boards of the national and state Association of Counties, Visit Spokane and the Spokane Regional Transportation Council.
• Amber Waldref, a Spokane City Council member since 2009, who worked as an environmental advocate in Seattle and, upon returning to Spokane in 2003, devoted her time to The Lands Council, a local nonprofit striving to protect forests, water, wildlife and people’s health in the Inland Northwest. She is chair of the Spokane Regional Transportation Council and the city’s public works committee.
