In a message sent to the WSU Health Sciences Spokane community on Aug. 2, university leaders outlined assistance for affected students and employees and thanked those responding to the fires.
Dear WSU Health Sciences students, faculty, and staff,
The Spokane Area Fires continue to affect communities across our region. We know that many members of our Health Sciences Spokane community have experienced evacuations, property loss, disruptions and understandable concern for family, friends, and neighbors.
If you have been impacted, please know that WSU has resources available to help. We encourage you to reach out if you need support.
Employees can find information and FAQs on HRS’s Wildfire and Air Quality web page or reach out to hrs@wsu.edu for additional assistance.
Students who have been affected by the fires or need support are encouraged to contact the Dean of Students Office at deanofstudents@wsu.edu.
We are deeply grateful to the firefighters, emergency responders, health care professionals, and volunteers who continue to serve our communities with extraordinary dedication.
Please continue to follow guidance from local emergency officials, stay informed about evacuation notices, and take the steps you need to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.
